"Allowing overriding shipping instructions per item"

I often have very very small items that can easily go in an enveloppe/very small box. But I also send books and crystals that need UPS. Right now, I cannot override my default settings (which is UPS) for a custom shipping logic that would apply only to *this* item. Also, the measurement of my item vary greatly (I sell posters in a tube, for example). It would be nice to have measurement per items when calculating price, so that it is more accurate. |

Hello Elise, Thank you for your concerns. I think that be biggest problem with the UPS is that minimum weight they take is 1lb. So, all the items in the database that weight less than 1 lb will be treated as 1lb. The newly introduced USPS plugin works better. I takes both lbs and ounces. So if you have item that weight 2 or 4 ounces, USPS plugin will calculate cost based on that weight. I think that with USPS you can select cheap shipping method out of these: Express
First Class
Priority
Parcel
Bound Printed Matter (BPM)
Media
Please contact ou support to have you shipping plugin updated.
