"System requirements?"
 
   I am considering buying this shopping cart but I was unable to find a listing of the necessary software that need to be at my hosting company. You don't even say what kind of DB backend you need...

Also, what language is it written in?

   Thank you for your request.

Cart runs optimally on Unix or Linux servers.
It requires CGI-BIN support. Most of the hostings offer CGI-BIN. However, cart runs also on OS X and WinNT servers. Some WinNT servers might not be fully compatible.

Shopping cart is written in PERL. It is a set of.cgi scripts. It uses flat-text database of its own. There are no advanced requirements for the database.

We offer free installation of the cart on your server.

   I see no mention of DB reqs, so is it a flatfile?
No MySQL?

   Yes, it is a flat file. Not a MySQL.

Should users of your cart have SSL certificates? I
understand that is required for "https://";

   No. Since payment is done on the paypal website which has SSL, there is no need to SSl on your site.
