"Can't Access Administrative Area"
| |
I have everything installed, I can access other sections of the setup program, but I am unable to change the password for the admin account. It just sits their waiting for the page to load. It only does this with the Administrative Are section. do you know what is causing this? Thanks for the help. |

LAST EDITED ON Nov-13-04 AT 10:10 PM (GMT) Yes, file permissions in the data/ and temp/ folders. Try changing permissions for the files in these folders and folders themselves to 777. This usually helps. Regards, Max |

Ok, I checked all my perms in the dirs. Under windows i have all perms set to administrator, and the Administrator has full control of everything on the server right now. I also set the folders so that the everyone group was added just in case. Then i went into my ftp program and changed all the folders, and files to CHMOD 777 as instructed. Then I choose the admin area to change my password, and i am still stuck on this page. It Does not give me the options as shown in the instruction mmanual. I have sent you a photo to your support e-mail address of what my current setup looks like. What you see on the screen is all that shows up. I even tried accessing it using IE, and it does the same thing. Do you know what might be causing the admin page to NOT fully load all the options? If you need more information I can call you, or meet you online using a microphone. Please let me know. I can also give you the ability to remote into the system to check some things if you need too. Again thanks for your time! |

E-mail me FTP access to your server and the URL of the ppadmin.cgi script. I will see try to diagnose the problem. Since you are on the Win abd not on the Unix/Linux server, it is possible that absolute path is required for every file in all the scripts. This is the way CGI scripts work under the PERL on Win servers. So it is possible that we need to change relative path to the absolute. This is the negative side of the Win hosting. Regards, Admin

Ok, I checked the FTP and I dont see any login attempts for the account I created you. What is an ETA for this to be looked at? Right now I cant use the software tell this is resolved. I have hosted other cgi scripts on this server with no issues. Please let me know as soon as you can. Thanks. Chad |
